This is the verdict: Light has come into the world but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.  Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.  Whoever lives by the truth comes into the light.  John 3:19-21

I am the light of the world.  If you follow me, you will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.  John 8:12

When you believe in me, you do not believe in me only but in the one who sent me.  When you look at me, you see the one who sent me.  I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.  If you hear my words but do not keep them, I do not judge you because I did not come to judge the world but to save it.  However, there is a judge for you if you reject me and do not accept my words - these very words which I am speaking will condemn you at the last day.  John 12:44-48

I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.  John 8:28

I do not speak on my own authority but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.  I know that his command leads to eternal life.  Whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.  John 12:49-50
